ride a train in a snowstorm

Take a train ride during a snowstorm.

Watch how the snow crusts over the glass windows.

Watch how it covers everything as you speed down the track.

Takes notes about what you see—the things you love, whether they are cars moving down white streets or boats on a dock pulling against their lines, or birds flying through the downpour, trying to keep their balance on the wind.

Close your eyes, take one thing you saw that stayed in your mind and imagine yourself as the object or creature in the snow.

Write about it.

Close your eyes again and imagine you are the snow, covering the world.

Write about that.
